Protection of Personal Information Act of 2013 (POPIA), data privacy statement, with regards to the business, Little Acres Drakensberg Accommodation, situated on the R600 in the Champagne Valley, Central Drakensberg.

Protection of Personal Information for guests.

Guests’ personal information is collected for booking purposes, in order to complete and secure the guest booking. Such information shall include full names, address, contact details like phone number and email address as well as identity number and car registration.

The information stated above shall not be distributed to third parties unless the guest has given consent. Similarly, the information collected shall not be distributed or stored out of the borders of South Africa.

The processing/ sharing may be necessary for historical, statistical or research purposes if it serves in the public interest. (E.g. Disease control) The information collected with be stored safely in an email folder that is secure from others, and will be added to a mail distribution system that offers specials for future stays but has an unsubscribe option.

With regards to the CCTV on the property, this is purely for security purposes. The cameras are placed in public spaces only. The information is not stored for long and is then recorded over.

It is vitally important to be aware of the importance of protecting privacy and no personal information shall be shared unless it would be permissible to do so in terms of the Act. Any data breaches shall be reported to the Information Regulator and guests concerned.

Indemnity Declaration

Cathkin Designs CC t/a Little Acres and the Land owners do not accept responsibility and shall not be responsible in any way whatsoever for any harm, injury or damage in any way occasioned, caused or flowing from any act or omission whatsoever occurring on or in these premises.
